Winter Swim Training: Spain 2017

Winter Swim Training is our thing and we know training in the states can get a bit repetitive. This year we'll be living up to our name and rolling out International Swim Training packages for all College teams D1-d3. Join us this January on the Beautiful coast of Spain.

Each team will have their choice between two hotels and two different pools!

Torremolinos

is located 7km from Malaga in the Costa del Sol and offers excellent training facilities. In addition to the indoor Olympic pool and 25m pool currently on site, the town has also opened an outdoor heated Olympic & diving pool. The pools are available all year round and are located within walking distance of our selected hotels. The Piscina Olímpica Virgen del Carmen forms part of a larger sporting complex where there is an athletics track, football pitches, indoor arena, tennis courts and a gym.


The pools are heated to 27-29 degrees with 8 lanes, anti wave lane ropes, backstroke flags, pace clocks and starting blocks.

MALAGA

known as the Capital of the Costa del Sol and the birthplace of Pablo Picasso is a large city located in Southern Spain. Costa del Sol in southern Spain, Malaga is an excellent choice for teams looking for all year round, warm weather camps. Malaga's excellent complex opened in June 2008 and boasts two 50m pools and a further warm up pool. The complex is located close to the international airport in a new development. Both the indoor and outdoor pools have starting blocks and lane ropes, with 6 underwater viewing windows located in the outdoor pool. Access to the on-site gym is included in the price. Teams will stay in the nearby resort of Torremolinos as there is no hotels within walking distance. ASI will organize all transfers to and from the pool.

Cervantes Hotel

  • The 4* Cervantes Hotel is one of the best hotels in Torremolinos.

  • 5 minutes walk from the beach and 20 mins to the sport facilities

  • The Cervantes Hotel offers a total of 397 rooms (325 doubles, 49 singles and 23 triples) and all rooms have a bathroom, direct dial telephone, satellite TV, piped music, safe (extra charge), WIFI (extra charge), heating and air conditioning. All rooms also have a terrace and most have sea views.

  • The hotel is located in the centre of the town close to many shops and restaurants with the beach just a short 5 minute walk away.

     

    Transfers to and from the Aquatic Centers, which are only 10-15 minutes drive away, are included

The Marconfort Griego

  • All-inclusive 4* hotel located directly on the beach in Torremolinos. Also near to the centre of Torremolinos where there are many shops, bars and restaurants. The beach is a pleasant 15 minute walk from the hotel.
  • All 414 rooms have a private balcony, air-conditioning, satellite television, telephone and safety deposit box. The hotel also has a games room, cafeteria, snack bar, and a piano bar. There is an outdoor swimming pool and fitness facilities.
  • The All Inclusive programme consists of breakfast (08:00-10:30), lunch (13:00-15:00) and dinner (18:30-21:00), all buffet style with show cooking, served in the main restaurant. During meals wine, beer, water, etc are offered. A variety of snacks such as sandwiches, pizza, salads, hamburgers, hot dogs, etc is available at the restaurant between 11:00 & 24:00 as well as ice cream from 09:00- 24:00. Locally produced alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks such as water, wine, beer, tea, coffee, soft drinks, spirits, etc are served from 09:00-24:00 at the lounge bar, the pool bar and at the disco bar.
  • There are lots of sport facilities at the hotel including a gym, mini-golf, archery, rifle shooting, bicycles, water-polo, table tennis, darts, air hockey large sunbathing area complete with sun loungers, heated indoor pool (open during winter months), daily movies and more.
  • There are 2 adult outdoor swimming pools and also a separate children’s pool on site.
